On March 23rd, the arrest of Istanbul's elected mayor—just days before his expected presidential candidacy—ignited protests across Turkey. What began as small gatherings in Istanbul quickly escalated into mass demonstrations, with hundreds of thousands taking to the streets in cities nationwide and worldwide.
These protests are not only about defending democratic representation, but also about justice, freedom of expression, and the daily struggles many face. The movement, led by students, journalists, and determined citizens, refuses to be silenced.
